Writing a Check to Federal Government Resume

Writing a Check to Federal Government ResumeTo write a check to the federal government resume is only a matter of taking that amount from you wallet and turning it in to the government. So, what are the things to consider when doing so?The first thing to remember is that a check to the federal government resume is usually accepted for federal grants or awards. When you start thinking about writing a check to the federal government resume, you have to understand that this is not just about writing a check to the government. What the government actually does is accept money in return for the services rendered by the individuals. In other words, your effort will definitely get you a check. Now, once you've turned in your federal government check, the agency will definitely pay you back for the services that you have given to them. But, in reality, there is a limit to the amount that you can request. The government may impose a certain limit on how much a particular person can request fro m the government. Here's what you should do with your check. Since the government is requiring a certain amount from you, it is your responsibility to ensure that the check has an account number. You need to check the bank statements to see if there is a balance left in the account. If there is not, then you need to contact the bank and ask for a change in the amount, preferably at least twenty dollars.Remember that once you send the check, you need to send the same back to the government. As a result, you need to remember to use stamps, counters, and other paraphernalia to prove that you wrote the check. Be sure to send the same with your checks as well.Remember that you will need to write a check in the form of a credit card or even a debit card. This is because you need to pay a fee and you need to have a complete physical address with you when you turn the transaction in. Now, all you need to do is to leave a copy of the receipt along with the physical address you have in case th e service provider decides to send you another check. By doing so, you will be able to prove that you did indeed write the check to the federal government resume.Writing a check to the federal government resume is not only about writing a check but also about being compliant with the law. With this, you are increasing your chances of getting the government to pay you.

Best New Cities for Tech Jobs

Best New Cities for Tech Jobs A diaspora of tech talent, driven by Silicon Valley’s tumbling job market and sky-high rents, has pushed tech job seekers to some surprising places. Job search site ZipRecruiter recently analyzed its database of more than 8 million active jobs, and ranked the 20 fastest-growing tech markets based on year-over-year data. Job growth for engineering, software, and IT roles may be losing steam in the Bay Area, but smaller cities are picking up the slack, the company says, Huntsville, Ala. topped the list, with over 300% tech job growth from 2016 to 2017. Thousand Oaks, Calif. (200%) came in second, followed by Phoenix, Ariz. (188%). “The tech industry is no longer bound to the coast,” says ZipRecruiter’s Chief Economic Adviser, Cathy Barrera. “As a result, we’re seeing the tech industry expand out of the major metropolis areas, and into smaller regional cities that have since flown largely under the radar.” Many of the cities on ZipRecruiter’s list are in the Midwest â€" Kansas City, Kan., Cincinnati, Ohio, and Indianapolis, Ind. are three standouts. The South also had a strong showing, with Nashville, Tenn. and three cities in Florida (Orlando, Jacksonville, Tampa) all making the cut. Barrera credits government policies, like tax breaks that attract entrepreneurs and business startups for much of this growth. But the main impetus, she says, is the skyrocketing cost of living in coastal tech hubs like San Francisco and New York. The median home price of a home in Huntsville hovers around $150,000, according to the report â€" a fraction of the $1.5 million it costs to buy a home in the Bay Area. “Big cities can only grow so much â€" and at a certain point, the skyrocketing living costs make it nearly impossible to find a job with a salary you can live off,” Barrera says. What Prevents You From Getting Hired - Work It Daily

What Prevents You From Getting Hired - Work It Daily There are many reasons job seekers give for not getting into a new job quickly enough. “The economy is bad,” is probably the biggest one. Another is, “I’m overqualified.” But then I hear “I’m not qualified enough!” My personal favorite: “I’m working on getting my resume updated.” Read, “I’m procrastinating.” I’m joking around here, but I’ve been there. I’m guilty of having said these things and more! Job searching is fraught with insecurities, anxieties, and self-defense mechanisms that can prevent you from getting the job you want. What’s the real thing that’s preventing you from getting hired? In a very candid talk with a client last week, he confided he had really not been trying very hard in his search. When exploring this further, he told me some things that we agreed were true for many job seekers. I’ve heard these reasons from other clients, and my client confirmed that he’s not the only one among his friends who struggles with this. It got me thinking. The following isn’t a comprehensive list by any stretch of the imagination, but it’s a place to start a frank discussion. If the economy, your qualifications, or your resume weren’t issues at all, what would you be left with as the reason for not having your ideal job yet? 1. Marital Problems This is such a delicate subject. But one that often needs to be addressed with job seekers. Ask yourself: Does your spouse or significant other support you emotionally in a way that facilitates your success? Or, are you so bogged down in discord that you don’t have the energy to make this big of a change? Some clients are expected to do extra chores or activities with the kids while being unemployed, sometimes so much that they don’t have much time left for their search! Some realize that if their spouse becomes more independent with their own salary, they may not want to stay in their current relationship. They’ll have the resources to leave, which is so scary that the job seeker sabotages his or her search. There are a myriad of problems that can arise between you and your loved one during your job search. Career changes or financial hardships might bring about the need for therapy, or at least honest discussions in order to move a job search forward. Getting help for your marriage might be what you need to land that job. 2. Fear So many emotions can surface in a job search, but this one can do the most damage. It can cause panic attacks or depression â€" very real health concerns. It can cause you to say or do things to overcompensate for your fears that end up damaging your reputation. How does fear affect you in your job search? What is fear anyway? My mom told me this acronym when I was a kid (I don’t know who invented it): False Evidence Appearing Real The only way to deal with fear is head on. Make a list of all the things you fear will or will not happen in your search, or in your interviews. What’s the worst case scenario? What would you do if those things happened? What’s the flipside to this? Do you have a back-up plan? Who really has the power in the situation? Most of the time, the fear really is false! Here’s a simplistic example: Worry: “I’ll forget what I want to talk about in my interview.” Worst case scenario: “The interviewer will think I’m a loser and I’ll feel like a fool.” Flipside: “They’ll miss out on a chance to hire a great employee.” Back-up plan: “I’ll bring notes so I can stay on track.” Power: “I have the power to prepare, present well, and offer my services to contribute to their company.” See how that “false evidence” can be turned around? 3. Dabbling Are you taking your search seriously? Or, are you just playing around with it? There are countless reasons why people don’t put in the effort required of a successful job search. Number one and two above are reasons why people dabble, but sometimes people are really enjoying not having to work. Or, they can’t manage the organization that’s needed to be most effective in a search. Regardless, dabbling is a job search killer. If you don’t take yourself seriously, neither will an employer. Maybe you do need a little time to sort things out before you take this on. When you are ready, be committed. Experts vary on the estimates, but I’ve found that if my clients don’t put in a good 20-30 hours into their search every week, either in online activities, in-person networking, or whatever, it takes a LONG time to make a change. So, ask yourself, “What’s the deal? Are there deeper reasons why I’m not making progress?” Does your marriage need help? Is the fear of your job change keeping you stuck? Are you taking this seriously? Do what you must to get back on track. My client is dealing with his issues and has a newfound energy for his search. You can, too! How This CHRO Is Making Her Company The Employer Of Choice For Women

How This CHRO Is Making Her Company The Employer Of Choice For Women Every person has the power to change the world by using their voice, Ellyn Shook, Accentures Chief Human Resources Officer told a captive audience at the inauguralFairygodboss Galvanize summit on Wednesday evening. Fairygodboss, the NYC-based startup, is convening nearly 100 women and male allies from dozens of companies at the conference, which continues today (Nov 2). Speakers, panelists and attendees are connecting with the common goal of improving the workplace for women, specifically by utilizing womens resource groups. Shook, who welches interviewed by The New York TimesSenior Gender Correspondent Susan Chira, kicked off the fest with some inspiring words of wisdom on how companies can not only set diversity goals but also bring them to fruition. She stressed the importance of setting the tone at the top and explained that at Accenture a company thats made a public commitment to having a gender-balanced work force by 2025 it was crucial to get the senior leadership team and board of directors engaged from the outset. Getting that buy-in first clears the roadblocks youll inevitably face, Shook said. How did she make that happen at Accenture? She approached their CEO with data on their workforce and compared that to the companys meritocracy statement, which says that all Accenture employees are treated equally. That was the catalyst for our CEO, Shook recalled, adding that after that conversation, she and her team brainstormed ways to put their diversity goals into action. They vowed to change their mindset and focus on discovering new sources of talent and hiring women around the world. They also resolved to figure out the best ways to attract and retain women. We went with the behuf of being the employer of choice for women, Shook said, asking individual women whats important to them in a job experience. With a global workforce comprised of hundreds of thousands of employees and clients in 120 countries, Accenture has the added challenge of making sure its programs and policies are effective across the world. Shook shed some light on how the company has worked on carrying out its diversity goals in countries like India and Saudi Arabia, where the playing field for men and women in the workforce is far from level. In India, for instance, Accenture has created a women-only career path program that recruits women from engineering schools, trains and mentors them, and allows them some flexibility to decide on which clients theyll work with. In addition to executing Accentures diversity and hiring goals around the world, Shook works tirelessly on improving the companys benefits and isnt afraid to rethink and refine her approach in the process. For example, when she was brainstorming ways to better support parents working at Accenture, she said she and her team first worked on expanding maternity leave and approving requests to ship breastmilk home for new moms who wer e back at work and traveling. I felt like I solved a big problem with a simple solution, Shook said. But what we really needed to do, she continued, was figure out how to keep women at home after the birth of a child. Now, both men and women at Accenture where most consultants travel each week to work with clients are able to stay in their hometown for a year after the birth or adoption of a child. Shook clarified that it was crucial to extend this benefit to dads, too this leveled the playing field, she said, instead of creating a mommy track, which wed unintentionally done. When Chira broached the subject of sexual harassment in the workplace, Shook said, We need to make sure theres an environment where people feel like they can raise their hand and come forward and make sure every complaint is heard and investigated. She added that even when complaints are made against high-performing employees, if the allegations are true, you have to fire even the best performers. Shook and Chi ra were the first speakers at the two-day Galvanize event, and they certainly set the tone for the rest of the conference which will feature Beth Comstock, Vice Chair of GE, and Deborah Rosado Shaw, SVP, Chief Global Diversity and Engagement at PepsiCo, among others. Shook put it simply Diversity is a business issue. Its not a nice-to-have thing.

Biggest Resume Blunders to Avoid at All Costs

Biggest Resume Blunders to Avoid at All CostsBiggest Resume Blunders to Avoid at All CostsBiggest Resume Blunders to Avoid at All CostsOur writers share the most common resume mistakes they see job seekers make. With limited space to highlight your cumulative professional skills and accomplishments, plus perk an employers interest, your resume is high-value real estate. Everything from layout to du sagst es choice matters. Our network of professional resume writers work with hundreds of job seekers every day to re-write their resumes and its safe to say theyve seen it all when it comes to resume blunders. Weve asked them to weigh in on the most common mistakes they see. Keep your eyes peeled you dont want your resume to include any of the followingcommon mistakesThe most common mistake I see is having one really broad resume that isnt focused on a specific job goal.Carrie M., TopResume writerMost of my clients struggle with formatting, word usage, and the promotion of their accomplish ments. First and foremost, I work with folks to move their content to a modern format keeping with industry best practice. I then work on the verbiage, seeking to expand my clients vocabulary, eliminate redundancies, and teach clients how to say certain important points in a mora eloquent and/or concise way.Lauren P., TopResume writerI see a lot of clients cramming their resumes with as much information as possible. A resume shouldnt include anything and everything, it should simply create interest for the hiring manager or recruiter by summarizing and demonstrating their qualifications. The extra little details should be reserved for the interview, once the employer is already interested.Mark S., TopResume writerThe most common resume mistakes I see with my clients are a bunch of small errors that add up to one big, ineffective resume. These resume mistakes range from using first and third person language, failing to incorporate enough of the right resume keywords, listing out too many tasks instead of highlighting achievements, and usign a resume format that doesnt accurately reflect the clients professional level of experience.Muhammed S., TopResume writerSome of the most common resume mistakes I see on my clients resumes have to do with improper formatting, the inclusion of outdated positions (beyond the 15-year window), typos (especially those that spellcheck misses), and too much passive language.Hillary F., TopResume writerIf these resumes mistakes sound all too familiar, its time to upgrade your professional resume.
